In October 2017, SMS Lodging added this historic Bahamian icon, located in downtown George Town, Exuma. SMS was the managing partner for a group of investors to purchase the property and add to its portfolio. The property reopened in February 2018 after undergoing renovations to public areas and guestrooms. In October 2018, the company added a private Beach Club on neighboring Stocking Island to the list of amenities. In 2019, SMS sold its equity stake in the property and maintained a management contract till 2021.
